Often with our dreams, our timelines can keep getting pushed back. When the things we really want get delayed, it may feel harder to keep your eyes on your dream. That’s what’s so powerful about April Kayganich’s story: she always knew there would be pivots and shifts in the journey, but that she would one day reach her dream. Her story is one of patience and resilience and doing the damn thing in a way that feels best for you.
Born in LA, but raised in a suburb of Detroit, April knew from a young age that she was very passionate about hair and art. There weren't many people that had hair like hers, so at the age of 10, she started cutting her own hair. It wasn’t long until her friends were asking her to cut and color their hair, as well. April Kayganich has since made a name for herself in Austin, Texas as a Texture Specialist who truly believes when you accept and embrace your natural hair, you accept and embrace yourself.
